09/16/16 10:06Good Morning SCAlert Subscribers - Read below about actions you will need to take to continue receiving emergency and community messages from SCAlert.

SCAlert is receiving a facelift and switching to CodeRed for our notifications. Visit www.SummitCountyCO.gov and read the information below for further instructions:

We have licensed the CodeRED Community Notification System to help disseminate important and critical information. In the past, you registered to receive specific selected alerts about items such as schools and traffic. If you would like to continue to get these notifications, please follow the steps below to create a managed account where you will then select the alerts you would like to receive:

1. Please go to the website: https://public.coderedweb.com/cne/en-US/BF280A5EDDF0
2. Complete the form including all forms of contact that you would like to receive notifications on, please make sure to include an email address so that you are able to reset your password.
3. Review the Terms and Conditions and then check the box stating you have read the Terms and Conditions
4. Click verify information
5. Select YES, I would like to create a managed account
6. Enter a Username and Password
a. Password requirements
i. Must be at least 8 characters
ii. Includes 1 letter
iii. Includes 1 number
b. Password will have to be typed in twice to confirm
7. Click Continue
8. Verify placement on the map
a. If you need to change the location:
i. Click and hold down the left mouse key on the blue balloon
ii. Drag the marker to the location desire
9. Scroll down to the additional notifications section and select the check boxes for the alerts you would like to receive
10. Click Verify information
11. Verify the information is correct then hit continue
12. You should then receive the Congratulations page that specifies you have successfully registered for Summit County Alerts
a. Please take note of the phone numbers as these will be the numbers displayed on your phone when an alert is sent

09/14/16 11:31Red White & Blue Fire crew is on scene in the French Gulch area where there is smoke. Although the fire is 100% contained, smoke will likely be present for several days.

09/12/16 11:23RWB Fire and Law Enforcement are on scene of a wildfire in the forest about 1 mile east of the Wellington Neighborhood. No structures are threatened at this time. No evacuations have been ordered at this time. French Creek Road is closed at the Country Boy Mine. The fire is giving-off heavy smoke at times. No further 911 calls are needed. For additional information contact Summit County Sheriff Public Information Officer Erin Opsahl at 970-389-2475.
