01/28/15 08:25The US Forest Service will be conducting pile burning operations today. They will be burning in the area of Tiger Road and Revett Dr.

Forest Service personnel will also be burning in the Barton Gulch area, which is North of Barton Rd., west of Highway 9 and Coyne Valley Rd.

Weather conditions are favorable with good smoke dispersal conditions. Smoke and flames may be visible and there is no need to call 9-1-1.

Forest Service fire management personnel will be on scene during the day. They will monitor for potential smoke impacts and fuel consumption. Forest Service personnel will continue to monitor periodically over the next few days until the piles are out.

01/26/15 13:51On Tues., Jan. 27, there will be temporary one lane closures on the 300 block of North Main St. as Xcel Energy makes repairs as a result of the natural gas leak earlier this month. ALL BUSINESSES WILL REMAIN OPEN. Paving operations will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will likely be completed by the end of the day, however, may continue on Wednesday morning.

Weather conditions are favorable with good smoke dispersal conditions. Smoke and flames may be visible and there is no need to call 9-1-1.

01/21/15 08:12U.S. Forest Service fire management personnel will be continuing pile burning operations today, Wednesday, Jan. 21. We will be burning in pile units located in Keystone (north of U.S. 6) and Keystone Ranch in the area of Soda Creek. Weather conditions appear favorable, with winds forecasted out of the west-northwest, good dispersion and a storm forecasted. Ignitions are expected to begin around 10 a.m. Smoke and flames may be visible from U.S. 6, Summit Cove, Interstate 70, Wildernest, Frisco and Dillon. Current snowpack conditions are favorable, and piles will be allowed to burn and smolder overnight, unattended. Fire management personnel will be on scene during the day to monitor potential smoke impacts and fuel consumption and will monitor periodically over the next few days until the piles are out. Please do not call 9-1-1.
