Sinceramente,

Drew Adkins

Dear families of Summit School District Students:

Late Wednesday afternoon a Summit High School senior, Tristan White, was involved in a medical incident during wrestling practice. Over the past two days, Tristan has been in the hands of excellent, caring doctors and nurses who have been working around the clock, in an effort to stabilize his heart and overall condition. Though successes were made, set backs were also experienced. Yesterday afternoon, Tristan was placed on life support to provide enough stability in his condition for additional potentially life sustaining procedures to be implemented. Though relatively stable through the night, the medical events of the past 48 hours have taken their toll, and this afternoon, Tristan passed away.

Throughout the day yesterday and today, Summit School District has had a team of counselors on site to provide support to both students and staff.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the White family and friends as we are all deeply saddened by this news. You are welcome to visit the school through the remainder of the day where space and personnel are available to you and your child. Remember Tristan as a vibrant member of our Tiger Family and use this opportunity to extend support to those in need.

Please call upon us if you have any concerns or if we can assist your family as we all grieve at this time.
